A power outage occurred during an event attended by Madhavaram MLA Vijayaprabhu in Chennai. The MLA was participating in the inauguration ceremony of the renovated Red Hills (Sengundram) bus terminus when the power cut took place, forcing him to speak without a microphone. Power was restored only after about 20 minutes.
