Daytime temperatures in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are expected to rise by 3–4°C above normal, with hot winds blowing during the afternoon. Due to El Nino, the initial phase of its impact may persist until October 15. ‘Delta Weatherman’ Hemachandar has noted that variations in wind speed within the atmosphere have created the potential for heat-induced thunderstorms in the interior districts.
