The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, which tightens the procedure for registering births and deaths after a significant lapse of time, was passed in Parliament last July. This Act comes into effect nationwide on October 1st. Consequently, registering births or deaths with a delay of more than two years will no longer be an easy process.
