‘Viveks’ showrooms, which had been a popular name in the home appliance retail business in Chennai for the past 60 years, have closed down. A rival company, Vasanth & Co., has acquired three of the locations where these showrooms operated, as well as a warehouse. Speculative details have emerged regarding the reasons behind the closure of the highly popular ‘Viveks’ showrooms.
