Construction work on the 21-kilometer, two-tier elevated corridor between Chennai Port and Maduravoyal is underway at a cost of ₹5,770 crore; currently, 40 percent of the project has been completed. Work is progressing briskly over the Cooum River, with intensive efforts currently focused on installing the two-tier concrete segments onto the massive pillars being erected for the project.
