Mettur Dam: With widespread rainfall occurring in the areas of Karnataka adjacent to the Western Ghats, the volume of Cauvery water flowing from that state into Tamil Nadu has increased. Consequently, the inflow into the Mettur Dam has risen from 8,612 cubic feet per second (cusecs) to 9,709 cusecs.
