Two individuals were arrested following a harassment complaint filed by a woman from the Srivaikuntam area of Thoothukudi district. The arrested persons petitioned the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court seeking to quash the case against them. During the hearing, the Madurai High Court ordered the case to be quashed after the woman from Thoothukudi reached a compromise.
