“Why shouldn’t sanitation workers who handle waste and collect garbage be paid a minimum of ₹25,000, when the Chief Minister deems it appropriate for an MLA’s assistant to receive a monthly salary of ₹25,000?” asked Bharathi, leader of the Workers’ Rights Movement.
