Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar says that, “I have assured-in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah-that the rights of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry regarding the Mekedatu dam issue will be upheld. Only 5 TMC of water from the proposed Mekedatu dam will be drawn for Bengaluru’s drinking water needs; we will supply all the remaining water to Tamil Nadu,” .
