Annamalai, founder of the ‘Vi Tha Leaders’ organization, has accused the Central Government of backing down on the Mekedatu issue for political reasons. He was responding to the Union Water Resources Minister’s statement that Tamil Nadu’s permission is not required to construct the dam at Mekedatu.
