Reports indicate that the corruption case against former DMK Minister EV Velu alleges the siphoning off of government funds without any actual work being executed. A complaint filed by the Arappor Iyakkam stated that Highways Department officials and contractors colluded to misappropriate government funds by claiming to have carried out roadworks when, in reality, no work had been undertaken.
