The Tamil Nadu government’s decision to build an integrated double-decker viaduct combining a 6-lane elevated highway and metro rail on the GST Road has delayed the 18.4 km Kilambakkam to Chettipunniyam metro extension by another year. The Detailed Project Report now needs major revisions for load-bearing capacity and cost-sharing with NHAI.
