With the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train project expected to become operational in 2027, Union Minister of State L. Murugan has announced that high-speed rail projects connecting Chennai–Bengaluru and Chennai–Hyderabad are also planned for implementation, aiming to strengthen fast intercity connectivity in South India.
