Tamil Nadu’s revenue deficit has surged to Rs.78,324 crore, with the state’s total debt reaching Rs.13.18 lakh crore and annual interest payments touching Rs.67,000 crore, according to the white paper released by Finance Minister Mariya Wilson. The report highlights poor growth in own tax revenue and rising debt burden over the past five years.
