It is reported that former Minister Ku Pa Krishnan has withdrawn from the race for the Trichy East constituency, following his appointment as the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board. Consequently, there is now significant anticipation regarding who will be fielded as the candidate for Trichy East on behalf of the TVK.
