Puthiya Tamilagam party leader Krishnasamy has stated that his party requested 15 assembly seats and one Rajya Sabha seat from the AIADMK; however, although the AIADMK offered five seats, they subsequently withdrew that offer. He added that a situation has now arisen where the Puthiya Tamilagam party will contest the elections independently.
