For the first time in its history—since its inception in 1991—the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) is currently contesting in fewer than 20 constituencies. In the upcoming elections, the PMK, led by Anbumani, is contesting in 18 constituencies as part of the AIADMK alliance.
