Sathankulam Custodial Deaths: The Madurai District Judge stated that both Jayaraj and Bennix of Sathankulam died solely as a result of the assault inflicted upon them by the police. The Judge further noted that while beating Jayaraj and Bennix, the police remarked that they had found a father and son upon whom they could practice their beating skills.
