Velmurugan, the leader of the Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi, has exited the DMK alliance. With the PMK faction led by Ramadoss not being part of the coalition, the question has arisen as to whether the DMK alliance stands to lose the Vanniyar votes—a key vote bank in northern Tamil Nadu.
