The Ditwah cyclone over the Bay of Bengal weakened into a deep depression near Chennai. It is currently located about 40 km southeast of the city and moving southwest at 8 km/h. The weather office says it will remain a depression for the next 12 hours before further weakening into a low-pressure area.
