The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has imposed an interim ban on filling Village Administrative Officer (VAO) posts through direct recruitment until the ongoing transfer counselling process is completed. The court also directed the Revenue Secretary and TNPSC Chairman to file their replies in response to petitions filed by the Tamil Nadu VAO Association representatives.
