After placing the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan in abeyance, India is now eyeing on Ganga Water treaty with Bangladesh. This water-sharing agreement which is set to expire in 2026. India is now seeking an additional 30,000–35,000 cusecs during this period to meet rising demands in West Bengal and neighbouring states.
