Raja Rajeswari, the chairperson of Bodinayakanur Municipality in Theni district, is married to Shankar, who is a member of the DMK state executive committee. He also serves as a councillor in the Bodinayakanur Municipality and is involved in the cardamom trade. An Enforcement Directorate investigation has revealed that he has evaded taxes and acquired assets worth ₹100 crore.
