The NHAI is set to begin construction of a new 18.4 km elevated highway from Kilambakkam to Mahindra City in Chennai at a cost of ₹3,300 crore. The road width has been increased to 29 meters and will feature Tamil Nadu’s first Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), aimed at easing heavy traffic congestion along the GST Road.
