A female passenger suffered a serious head injury when a seat in a berth compartment of an express train going from Chennai Central railway station to Palakkad fell down. She was bleeding from her head and it was revealed that there was not even a first aid kit on the train to provide first aid treatment. The railways has now issued a clarification in this regard.
