While there is unrest regarding the lighting of lamps at Thiruparankundram, permission has been granted to conduct the Sandanakoodu festival at the dargah located on the hill. Therefore, Hindu organizations have protested and engaged in arguments against four people who climbed the hill to renovate the flagpole at the dargah.
