The Jallikattu competition in Suriyur, Trichy district, has begun today with great fanfare. 850 bulls and 600 bull tamers are participating in the Jallikattu event in Sooriyur. This is the first time the Jallikattu competition is being held at the permanent Jallikattu arena in Suriyur.
