Veera Saminathan, DMK Union Secretary of Vedasandur in Dindigul district, was stabbed by a 22-year-old youth during a party meeting. The attacker approached him under the pretext of presenting a shawl before suddenly assaulting him. Saminathan sustained injuries near his neck, and another party functionary was also hurt while intervening.
