Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram stated that judging a state’s economy solely on total debt is incorrect. He said comparing Tamil Nadu’s economy with Uttar Pradesh is flawed and pointed out that total debt rises annually even in developed countries like the US, UK, Japan, and France.
