Arun was serving as a commander in the Manimutharu Special Police Force in Tirunelveli district with the rank of SP. He joined the service as a DSP after passing the Group-1 examination through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in 2012. He was promoted to the post of SP in August last year. But he has resigned. He has said that he does not want to continue working as a joker.
