In a drastic move, ‘Khap’ panchayat leaders in Uttar Pradesh have issued an order prohibiting boys and girls under the age of 18 from wearing shorts in public places and from using smartphones. Similarly, they have also ordered that marriages should not be held in marriage halls, but only in homes.
