A major controversy has erupted regarding a large quantity of gold missing from the gold plating of the ‘Dwarapalaka’ (guardian) idols outside the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple’s sanctum sanctorum. The person under heavy suspicion is Unnikrishnan Potti, a Malayali based in Bengaluru. Potti was the one who offered the gold plating as a donation (kaanikkay)
