Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Chief Coordinator Seeman has alleged that the Tamil Nadu government has imposed a ban on palm toddy (kallu) exclusively within the state to protect TASMAC liquor sales. He claimed that while palm toddy is allowed in several other Indian states, it remains banned in Tamil Nadu to ensure government revenue from liquor sales doesn’t drop.
