Actress Nalini undertook a unique “Madi Pichai” (collecting offerings in her lap) at the Devi Karumariamman Temple in Thiruverkadu, a Chennai suburb. The collected offerings were then deposited into the temple hundi for the ongoing Kumbabishekam (consecration) works and Aadi Velli (Aadi Friday) rituals. Nalini herself provided an explanation for her traditional act.
