Widespread rain lashed the southern districts yesterday. According to the weather department, heavy rain is likely today in five districts, including Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi and Kanniyakumari, with chances of thunder and lightning. Chennai is also expected to receive heavy rain tomorrow or the day after.
