A female assistant commissioner has been arrested for accepting a bribe of one and a half lakh rupees to bring a private temple under the control of the Hindu Religious and Endowments Department near Coimbatore. After a complaint was filed with the Anti-Corruption Police, the female assistant commissioner was caught red-handed while handing over chemically-stained currency notes.
