The Tamil Nadu government has announced that 593 families living along the banks of the Adyar river in Anakaputhur will be provided with free houses of 390 square feet (one house costs 17 lakhs; 390 square feet) in Tailavaram, Keerappakkam, Perumbakkam and Navalur through the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board.
